We met Miguel for the first time and he seems sweet. Lots of fun.
We went down to look at the south end and saw the turtles mating but couldn't get close enough for pictures, since it was after 5 and the park was closed. We went the next day and there wasn't a single turtle to be seen!!!
The Playa Norte water we come to swim in and look at each year.
Standing under a tall palm tree , It makes us look so small and of course the beach so tropical.
Rented a golf cart that looked like an old chevy. It was the slowest thing on wheels lol. But we got a lot of smiles and looks(or was that my bad driving?)As you can see the dog is not driving!!!
We met up with our friends from the board this week. one on friday, two on sunday and one on wed. We shared a book I had read during all the rain sat and sun, with one of our chatter board friends and she will pass it on to others on the island. Then We went out to dinner at Da Luisa for a very upscale dinner. The place is nice, the food very good.
Barlitos was one of our favorites for breakfast, plus if you post when you are coming on the trip calendar, they email you a link for a coupon for a % off . We printed two coupons and ate there twice. We haven't had a bad meal there yet, and Brad and Tiffany always have great suggestions and information about the island and trips and prices you will or should pay. Nice people. As are Jackie and her husband of Jax the restaurant, where we eat often but no pics this trip. And Jimbo and Karen of Casa Roca Caribe are the coolest.
The golf cart trip aroubd the Island this year was different because we went in May and it is slower than in June for some reason. Zama's dragon and other pics.
This dog seemed to love his ride.
Droppin some NYC Deli, jersey joe Sandwich. The Limeaid was great too. Barlitos makes the homemade rye bread for them Hope they do well.
I scheduled a group snorkling trip to snorkel at the lighthouse. Then I went to lunch and when I arrived for my trip they said oh no seniorita we have no group for you only private tour. I said no you promised me a 2pm group tour. He said ok you go with them. I went with some boys and the group and then that man said no this is a private tour only. He yelled at the other man and sent me back to him. My husband said look, we had a tour booked whats going on? They talked among themselves and said ok, and put me in a boat and took me to another boat, made me get in it. They had already snorkeled the lighthouse so he rushed me up along the ropes till I got close to the lighthouse, then he made made me get in the boat, and said now we go farther down the coast to snorkel some more. The place had hardly any coral and only smaller fish. But when we got back in the boat he said would you like to see a shark? The others said yes. I didn't want to upset anyone so I thought this will take 15 min. Ha!! They Kidnapped me here. They took me to Playa Tiburon because the others had payed for a meal here so I was stuck there for 1-1/2 hrs. I only had 26 peso with me and a coke cost 25 peso. I was so upset because it was my last afternoon on Isla and I had to spend it alone .
Our last sunset this trip Joe is crazy about them, me I'm all about the snorkeling and being in the ocean, but Isla has something for each of us!!
Joe doing his Corona "Pacifico" commercial
, before we head up to change our clothes and leave for the 11am ferry. We'll be back soon . Oh and say hello to the guys who sell the bread and pastries out of their truck on the end of Hidalgo. One evening after dinner we went back to get something out of our room and my feet hurt because they were so swollen. I waited for Joe at the end of the block for him to go to the room. The two guys pulled out a chair for me and made me sit and chat with them while I waited. They were so nice and polite and we never bought anything from them but they were just the salt of the earth.
