Isla Mujeres and her visitors are blessed once a year with arguably the world's most amazing opportunity to experience Whale Sharks in their natural habitat! During the summer months (June - September) hundreds of Whale Sharks gather just north of Isla Mujeres in a seven mile radius to take advantage of the plankton rich waters created by the joining of the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea. A quick, but breathtakingly beautiful, one hour boat ride from the docks on Isla Mujeres will put you right within the territory where your trained guide will search out the Whale Sharks and offer you an experience you will NEVER forget.

Tours leave from Isla Mujeres each morning between 7 -8 am. Once everyone is situated you'll head out and marvel at the morning view of Isla Mujeres's downtown and breathtaking North Beach. Whale Shark territory covers a seven mile wide circle, but you'll be in range within 1.5 - 2 hours. You'll spend the rest of this unforgettable day scouting out groups of Whale Sharks. Each encounter allows for two people to enter the water at a time, along with your guide. While onboard, each passenger is offered snacks of fruit and your choice of the following to keep you hydrated; OJ, coffee, water and soda.
When your time is up, the boat will head back to Isla, giving you another chance to take in the beauty of both Isla Contoy and North Beach Isla Mujeres. Plan to return to Isla Mujeres between 2-3 pm, where you'll be treated to a sumptuous buffet which will give you the perfect chance to swap "I can't believe it" stories the other Shark experience participants.
